“I am not a technician; I am a Dream Capturer.”

My photography journey began long before I ever held a professional camera. I have always been fascinated by the quiet power of images—how a single frame can carry emotion, memory, beauty, and truth all at once. Guided by this fascination, I pursued a four-year Bachelor’s Degree in Image Arts (Photography, Cinema & Television) at the University of Kelaniya in Sri Lanka. This formal foundation gave structure to my creativity and opened the doors to a world where art meets vision.

In 2009, I proudly presented my maiden solo photography exhibition: a collection of artistic images that reflected how I saw the world—full of stories waiting to be told. The following year, I curated a group exhibition focused on fashion photography, exploring style, character, and expression through the lens. These early showcases strengthened my belief that photography is not just a profession—it is a deeply personal language.

Over the years, my path expanded across many visual forms. I worked as a Director of Photography for short films, music videos, and commercials, shaping narratives through motion and light. At the same time, I served as a still photographer on numerous movies and teledramas, capturing moments that lived both on and off screen. My time as a photojournalist at several national newspapers taught me to chase authenticity—the raw, unfiltered humanity of everyday life. Along the way, my work earned recognition at national and international platforms, but the real reward has always been the connection my images create.

In 2018, driven by a desire to give back, I founded The Academy of Photography. Teaching became a new form of storytelling for me. Over four years, I trained around 150 students—guiding them through lighting, composition, DSLR handling, and the art of seeing rather than just shooting. Through workshops and school programs, I helped young minds discover confidence and creativity. With teachers and students, I also built new photography curricula, strengthening the next generation of visual thinkers.

After more than a decade of professional experience in Sri Lanka, my creative journey brought me to Dubai.

I worked as a Videographer at Danube Sports World, creating dynamic visual content for over 50 corporate events, producing promotional videos, and driving social media engagement through compelling digital storytelling.

Here, I expanded my work into brand-aligned photography and videography, creating visual content for corporate, fashion, and lifestyle clients. I managed complete production workflows, delivered over 500 customized portraits, and developed storytelling-driven visuals that increased online engagement and built memorable brand identities.

Today, I continue to follow the same belief that guided me from the beginning: Photography is not just the art of capturing images. It is the art of capturing dreams, emotions, and the essence of people.
